International success of our Architecture of Cultural Spaces students
W rozstrzygniętym niedawno konkursie na projekt obserwatorium wulkanicznego w Islandii, aż dwa zespoły z naszej Uczelni znalazły się w finale otrzymując wyróżnienie.
W konkursie startowały setki projektantów z całego świata – m.in. z tak prestiżowych ośrodków jak Technischule Univesitat w Monachium czy Temkang University w Tajwanie.
Pierwszy zespół w składzie Aleksandra Paszki i Julia Arcyz zaproponował modułowy mobilny obiekt pt. "Moonwalk", który pozwala na spojrzenie na wulkan z różnych perspektyw. Każde piętro zaprojektowanego obiektu to odwołanie do innej części wulkanu.
Druga nagrodzona praca stworzona została przez Darię Modzelewską pt. "Swinging on the edge", która odwołuje się do klasycznego kanonu piękna. Zaproponowała formę, która poprzez czystość i kontrast z otaczającym wulkanicznym krajobrazem, kadruje przestrzeń i pozwala na kontemplację.
Prace powstały w Pracowni Przestrzeni Publicznych, prowadzonej przez prof. ASP Jana Sikorę na kierunku Architektura Przestrzeni Kulturowych.

In the recently concluded competition for a design of a volcanic observatory in Iceland, as many as two teams from our Academy were among the finalists and received an honourable mention.
Hundreds of designers from all over the world, including such prestigious centres as the Technischule Univesitat in Munich or Temkang University in Taiwan, took part in the competition.
The first team, composed of Aleksandra Paszki and Julia Arcyz, proposed a modular mobile facility called “Moonwalk”, which allows one to observe the volcano from different perspectives. Each floor of the designed facility constitutes a reference to a different part of the volcano.
The second awarded work, entitled “Swinging on the edge”, was created by Daria Modzelewska, who refers to the classic canon of beauty. She proposed a form that, through its purity and contrast with the surrounding volcanic landscape, frames the space and provides conditions for contemplation.
The works were created in the Public Space Studio, led by Jan Sikora, professor of the AFA, by students of Architecture of Cultural Spaces.
