Przedstawiamy wystawę prac studentów wydziałów graficznych czterech Uczelni: Uniwersytetu Artystycznego w Belgradzie, Akademii Sztuki w Wilnie, Akademii Sztuk Pięknych we Wrocławiu oraz Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Gdańsku.

The Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade

The Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade is a constituent part of the University of Arts in Belgrade, the only institution of its kind in Serbia. The Faculty of Fine Arts is the leading institution in the field of arts education in the region. Over its eighty-year history, more than 140 eminent artists have taught at the Faculty, making their mark in Serbian art and successfully representing their country in important international exhibitions.

The Faculty comprises five departments: Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, New Media and Theory. The curriculum of the Faculty consists of three educational levels – four-year undergraduate studies, one-year master’s studies, and doctoral research. The main aim of the studies is to prepare students for creative, responsible individual work in contemporary art practice and to teach them the necessary skills through traditional and contemporary technological procedures. The curriculum places particular emphasis on the development of analytical and critical thinking.

Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the exhibition Intertwinings and Interactions will present works on paper by students of four Academies/Faculties of Fine Arts – those in Gdańsk, Wrocław, Vilnius, and Belgrade. The exhibition, which will be held in each of these cities, aims to promote the work of outstanding students – young artists, and provide insight into the similarities and differences between the curricula of these four renowned institutions of higher education.

The Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade is represented by students of different departments, from first-year to master's students, most of whom are recipients of Faculty awards for their drawings and prints in the academic year 2020-21. Students' varied poetic approaches to these media, as well as the wide range of materials in which these works have been produced, show that they have been created in an atmosphere of openness and sensitivity to the spirit of the times, an atmosphere that has always distinguished the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade.

                                                           Prof. Dimitrije Pecić, D.A.

Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade
