„Interesuje mnie rola prostych przedmiotów w budowaniu i podtrzymywaniu tożsamości grupowej, wspólnych zwyczajów i sposobu życia. Zadziwia mądrość płynącą z doświadczenia ich «nieprofesjonalnych» twórców, z głębokiej wiedzy o ich przeznaczeniu i sposobie posługiwania się nimi. Interesują mnie archetypy komunikatów wizualnych oraz szczególna rola typografii w efektywności ich oddziaływania na odbiorcę. Projektowanie – jako metoda rozwiązywania zdefiniowanych problemów – jest dla mnie poszukiwaniem harmonii oraz celowych i logicznych związków pomiędzy elementami projektu.”

Absolwent Wydziału Architektury Wnętrz i Wzornictwa Przemysłowego PWSSP (obecnie ASP) w Gdańsku. Pracownik naukowo-dydaktyczny w Katedrze Podstaw i Metodyki Projektowania na Wydziale Architektury i Wzornictwa. Jako dydaktyk współpracuje także z Wyższą Szkołą Bankową i Uniwersytetem Gdańskim. Współzałożyciel Grupy Projektantów Wzornictwa START (1993–1997). Laureat nagrody Wzór Roku 2007, a także wielu nagród w konkursach: Vidical, Idea i innych. Zajmuje się projektowaniem systemów komunikacji wizualnej i projektowaniem wzornictwa. Jest autorem ponad 100 wdrożonych systemów identyfikacji wizualnej. Prowadzi własne studio projektowe.

“I am fascinated by the role of simple objects in building and maintaining group identity, common habits and a way of life. The wisdom that comes from the experience of their "unprofessional" creators, from a profound knowledge of their destiny and the way they are used is astonishing. I am interested in the archetypes of visual messages and the special role of typography in the effectiveness of their impact on the recipient. Design – as a method of solving precisely defined problems – for me is a search for harmony as well as purposeful and logical relations between the elements of the project.”

A graduate of the Faculty of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design at the PWSSP (currently Academy of Fine Arts) in Gdańsk. Research and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Fundamentals and Design Methodology at the Faculty of Architecture and Design. As a teacher, he also cooperates with the WSB University and the University of Gdańsk. Co-founder of the START Design Group (1993–1997). Winner of the Design of the Year 2007 award, as well as many awards, including in competitions: Vidical, Idea and others. Mirek runs his own design studio, where he designs visual communication systems and industrial objects. He is an author of over 100 implemented visual identification systems.
