Po upływie roku od ukończenia studiów w Wyższej Szkole Sztuk Plastycznych w Gdańsku został zatrudniony w listopadzie 1973 roku na stanowisku asystenta w pracowni profesora Ryszarda Semki. W ciągu 45 lat pracy na Wydziale Architektury Wnętrz i Wzornictwa uzyskał wszystkie stopnie i tytuły naukowe. Profesor zwyczajny. Jest promotorem ponad stu dyplomowych opracowań magisterskich oraz ponad 50 licencjackich z dziedziny sztuki użytkowej. W jego dorobku artystycznym znajdują się liczne projekty architektoniczne, wnętrzarskie i wystawiennicze. Jest współautorem opracowań konkursowych w wielu dziedzinach twórczych, a także uczestnikiem gremiów oceniających kunszt artystyczny innych twórców. W latach 2005-2008 pełnił obowiązki dziekana Wydziału Architektury i Wzornictwa ASP w Gdańsku. Profesor jest inicjatorem powstania kierunku Architektury Przestrzeni Kulturowych na Wydziale Architektury i Wzornictwa ASP w Gdańsku. Wielokrotnie był nagradzany przez kolejnych rektorów Akademii za zaangażowanie w działalności dydaktycznej i organizacyjnej na rzecz Wydziału i Uczelni. Jest laureatem Nagrody Prezydenta Miasta Gdańska. W 2013 roku otrzymał Złotą Odznakę „Zasłużonego dla Kultury Polskiej” a w roku 2018 został odznaczony orderem Gloria Artis.

One year after graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, he was employed in November 1973 as an assistant of Professor Ryszard Semka. During 45 years of work at the Faculty of Architecture and Design, he obtained all academic degrees and titles. Full professor. He is the supervisor of over one hundred MA theses and over 50 BA theses in applied arts. His artistic achievements include numerous architectural, interior and exhibition designs. He is a co-author of competition studies in many creative fields and a participant in bodies assessing the artistic skills of other artists. In the years 2005–2008, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. The professor is the initiator of creating the field of study: Architecture of Cultural Spaces at the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Successive rectors of the Academy have awarded him many times for his teaching and organisational activities for the Faculty and the Academy. He is the laureate of the President of Gdańsk City Award. In 2013, he received the Golden Badge of 'Meritorious for Polish Culture', and in 2018 he was awarded the Gloria Artis order.
