Urodzona w Białymstoku. Rzeźbiarka, absolwentka Wydziału Ceramiki na Akademii Sztuk Pięknych we Wrocławiu. Zajmuje się rzeźbą w metalu, drewnie i ceramice. W procesie twórczym Istotne jest dla niej powiązanie form istniejących w naturze z abstrakcyjnymi kształtami dającymi jedynie wrażenie skojarzeń z tym, co zostało już stworzone. Swoje prace prezentowała na wystawach: „Kolekcja czyli wybór” w Muzeum Narodowym w Gdańsku, „Luci Ed Ombre del Legno Sympozjum” we Włoszech. Brała udział w plenerach artystycznych związanych z Akademią Sztuk Pięknych we Wrocławiu „Cosmic Nature”. Jest laureatką programu mentorskiego OP Young 22, którego efektem była realizacja wystawy Life Takes on a Different Meaning.
Za prace prezentowane na wystawie „Najlepsze Dyplomy ASP Wrocław 2022” otrzymała nagrodę ZPAP. „Jako twórca poddaję się mojej wyobraźni i przestrzeni. W rzeźbie poprzez zainteresowanie się wewnętrzną sferą sacrum każda niemal rzecz, którą zaobserwowałam jako element natury uległa mojemu przetworzeniu rozrastając się w swojej kompozycji ku górze. Proces tworzenia dzieł umiejscowił mnie w czasie tak też – jestem częścią informacji zawartej w moich pracach. Jako twórca wiem, że kontynuacja tego co rozpoczęłam nigdy się we mnie nie skończy.”

Daria Kowalewska is a graduate of the Ceramics Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. She works in sculpture in metal, wood and ceramics. She has presented her works in exhibitions such as: "Kolekcja czyli wybór" at the National Museum in Gdansk and "Luci Ed Ombre del Legno Symposium" in Italy. She received the ZPAP award for her works presented at the "Najlepsze Dyplomy ASP Wrocław 2022" exhibition. She’s the winner of the third edition of the OP YOUNG 2022 mentoring program. Her latest works be seen at the Life Takes on a Different Meaning exhibition.
"As an artist, I surrender to my imagination and space. In sculpture, through my interest in the inner sphere of the sacred, almost everything I have observed as an element of nature has undergone my transformation expanding upward in its composition. The process of creating works has placed me in time so too – I am part of the information contained in my works. As a creator, I know that the continuation of what I started will never end in me."

„Uroboros” metafora procesu przemiany 

Uroboros jako metafora procesu przemiany wywodzi się ze starożytnej symboliki porządku i cyklu życia. Znaczenie to bardzo silnie odwołuje do natury gdzie jest to strefa odzwierciedlająca emocje i stany, których my jako zwykli ludzie jesteśmy w stanie doświadczać. Jest to istnienie pewnego porządku rzeczy oraz obraz sytuacji, której stan jest symboliczny. Umownie, kompozycja to etap przejścia. Światło i cień decydują o wartościach postrzegania tak fizycznych jak i metaforycznych.
Cykl rzeźb skupia się w swojej kompozycji na formach wertykalnych, oddając wrażenie ruchu i rośnięcia, bazuje na powtarzalnych liniach. Układ jest zwrotem w stronę duchowości i porządku natury, manifestując procesy przemijania i cykliczności życia. Ceramika jako wiodący materiał ma też znaczenie symboliczne, jako plastyczny materiał ulega wielu przekształceniom aż do momentu wypalenia. Dla twórcy żywa glina jest surowcem bardzo pierwotnym. Też jest to proces pewnego etapu. Początku rytmu, który zatoczy koło. Całość opiera się bezpośrednio na podłożu. Rzeźby w większości dorównują wysokości człowieka. W ekspozycji obiekty ustawione są blisko siebie dając ekspresyjny obraz zagęszczonych kształtów w przestrzeni. Wrażenie ulotności daje się zauważyć w wysmuklonych i wycienionych korpusach kolejnych elementów.

"Uroboros" as a metaphor for the process of transformation

Uroboros as a metaphor for the process of transformation is derived from the ancient symbolism of order and the cycle of life. This meaning very strongly refers to nature, where it is a zone that reflects emotions and states that we, as ordinary people, are able to experience. It is the existence of a certain order of things and the image of a situation whose state is symbolic. By convention, composition is a stage of transition. Light and shadow determine the values of perception, both physical and metaphorical.
The series of sculptures focuses on vertical forms in its composition, giving the impression of movement and growth, based on repetitive lines. The arrangement is a turn towards spirituality and the order of nature, manifesting the processes of passing and cyclicality of life. Ceramics as the leading material also has a symbolic meaning, as a plastic material it undergoes many transformations until it is burned out. For the creator, living clay is a very primal raw material. It is also a step-by-step process. The beginning of a rhythm that will come full circle. The whole rests directly on the ground. Most of the sculptures are as tall as a man. In the exhibition, the objects are placed close to each other, giving an expressive image of dense shapes in space. The impression of transience can be noticed in the slender and shadowed bodies of the subsequent elements.
